A revolutionary new Vespa 125 model: This new Vespa 125 was the first to feature a fully cut-out right side panel around the cooling fan, unlike previous versions. This innovation resulted in a sleeker and more modern appearance. Much of this improvement was due to the new “square” engine with a 59 mm bore. The redesigned engine delivered improved performance with increased power, while maintaining low fuel consumption thanks to a new configuration with opposed ports. The new engine dimensions also allowed it to be completely enclosed by the side panel, improving both functionality and form. On this example, the Italian factory has equipped the front fender with two metal bars. These can be used to attach provincial license plates, a legal requirement in several export countries, including the Netherlands.
