The top model from the early ’60s: the Vespa 160 Grand Sport.
The GS is highly popular for its sporty character and, of course, its stunning design, with thick side panels and a sleek, rounded front fender, making it one of the most sought-after Vespas. This example is a 1st series 160 GS, recognizable by the glove compartment above the rear light. It was originally delivered in the Netherlands. During this period, M.I.S.A. was responsible for assembling Vespas for the Benelux, including the Dutch market. There are few differences compared to the Italian GS. Notable features include the well-known MISA logo on the front of the leg shield and a dark saddle by DONZA. A very typical Dutch addition is the set of luxurious brackets. Whether they’re beautiful is up for debate, but they certainly offer solid protection.
